  • Marlita was my doula for all 3 of my births, and I can truly, honestly say that I would not have made it without her at my births! With my first birth, she showed me exactly how to get my labor going faster, she was attentive to my needs, and advocated for me when I couldn’t advocate for myself. I had a BEAUTIFUL first birth because of her!! My second birth was AWFUL from pregnancy, to labor and delivery, to post-partum. Marlita spent hours talking to me about the complications we had, and she was able to give me honest feedback while supporting me through the process. Labor was AWFUL, so Marlita advocated for me again and placed me, her, and my husband in the bathroom to labor together. She even discovered the cord around my son’s head while I was pushing. There is no telling how much damage she saved my son from by being so vigilant and attentive. She also helped me process my awful birth in detail once I was able to process it all, which I desperately needed. With my third birth, Marlita stayed at my head and coached me through breathing and pushing because she knew my biggest fear was tearing. I got only a half-degree tear because of Marlita helping me through it! Marlita is family to us. I have no idea what I would have done with any of my pregnancies or births without her. When you hire her, you are signing up for adding an incredible angel in disguise to your family.

  • After my first birth in a hospital, I decided to try a different route. Marlita was there, hands and heart ready. Marlita is one of the most dedicated midwives I know. Her experience as a doula, working alongside and training under experienced midwives, forms a great foundation of knowledge and experience, shining through from pregnancy to birth. Her training came in very handy in one of my births when I had major back pain. She knew exactly where to massage to relieve that pain during labor. She is kind, caring, gentle, and pays attention to detail. Her memory and meticulous note-taking play a huge role in her response to pregnancies and births, tracking patterns between past and present pregnancies and births. After the great care I received with Marlita during my second pregnancy and birth, when I found out I was expecting my third child, I knew I wanted Marlita there again. She did not disappoint. After knowing how fast my last one came, she was quick to be there for me and my baby. One of her quick responses is shown in her dedicated race to the births, especially when she knows past ones have been quick. She always has a smile on her face and a good sense of humor at the ready, putting patients at ease. She is kind, compassionate, gentle, and loved by adults as well as children.
